Free SEO Tools

Who says you can’t get anything for free anymore?

I was researching html validation, search engine spiders, and search engine performance today and came across a few websites that made my job SO MUCH easier. I’ve linked them below, so give them a look when you get a chance. On second thought - make a chance, the information’s THAT important.

Free Internet Marketing and SEO Tools - I was particularly impressed with #17, the Spider Viewer. It allows you to see your page as a Search Engine Spider would. I ran some of my websites through and was amazed at the lack of some keywords as well as the abundance of some nonesense! I have a little work to do.

Dr. Watson’s HTML Validator - Again, you enter your url, then you’re presented with a list of “errors” found in your html. Rest assured, there’ll be errors. I read an article on About.com and the author said that their own website had lots of errors. It does, however, point out some basic html validating errors that could be causing problems in other browsers and/or in search engine performance.

Below the list of errors found, you’ll be able to see your html code with numbers before each line - it makes it a cinch to find exactly where the problems lie. Did I find any errors on my websites? Again… I have work to do!

The Untold Secret To Explode Your Adsense Clickthrough Rate

by Sunny Tan

A lot us who are into adsense business know that to increase adsense earning potential, we got to increase that clickthrough rate. This is true when you have limited traffic going to your site. So it’s crucial to get the most out of the available traffic that you are having.

But just how many of you have come across articles or websites teaching you about increasing your adsense clickthrough rate, talking about the same thing?

A lot right?

They tell you about blending your ads into the background, using text ads rather than image ads, reducing other advertisement distraction, upper fold ads placement and yada yada yada…

While these tactics are not wrong and in fact might help you to increase the adsense earnings in the long run, but nonetheless, there is another method that can be implemented which will work like gangbuster.

Once done correctly, you will typically notice a much higher clickthrough rate than the rest of the tactics you may have used.

This method simply requires you to deploy videos into your web pages.

And yes, you would employ the use of videos alongside your adsense pages!

In this method, what you need to do is to source out good relevant content videos from either youtube.com or video.google.com.

Getting the videos onto your web pages is just the matter of copy and paste the object codes onto your html source.

For instance, if you were to source out video content from youtube, you can highlight and copy the embedding codes from the ‘embed’ column on the top right corner.

Then you would paste the codes onto your web pages and voila you’ll instantly have great content along side with multimedia rich videos.

But the real secret doesn’t just stop here. You have to make the right placement for better clickthrough rate.

I would suggest that you modify the video border width and height from the codes to match with a 250X250 adsense ads which are place side by side with the video.

Using the example above, you can see not only you can provide the page with good content about the subject, but also the corresponding video on top of the page. Then the adsense ads which are residing next to the video are shown which aptly complement the whole subject.

This video usage was known to have increased the clickthrough rate as much as 100%.

Try it yourself and always remember to test the placement on your websites. You can always test by modifying the width and the height of the videos to match against different format of adsense ads, as well as blending with different kinds of colors.

Link to Google Maps from Your Website and Help Customers Find Your Shop or Business Premises

by Lin Parker

Does your website promote a shop, or business premises where you sell your services or products? If so, I am sure that your customers would find it useful to see a location map. They may be more likely to visit you if they can see at a glance where you are and also get directions whilst on the same web page! I can tell you now, this can be done very quickly and easily, and is totally free!

Many people when looking for directions will just get out an A-Z map, or go to a routefinder website. But did you know that Google have a great map system, and I find it very quick and easy to use. Google Maps can be used by potential customers to search for a business in a specific geographical location. You can add your own business to the listings, so that it would appear in search results, although you don’t need to do this to add a link to a Google Map showing your business location. Google say that their maps cover the following regions:

Andorra, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ireland, Istanbul, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Moscow, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and US.

Once you are in Google Maps, follow these instructions to link to a location map from your website:

1. Enter your post/zip code in the search box.

2. Click search and wait for your map to appear.

3. On the top right-hand corner of the page, right-click on “Link to this page”.

4. select “Copy shortcut” or you can just copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

5. Then to add the link on your own website, type a suitable description, such as “Visit our Shop”. Add a hyperlink and paste the url by right-clicking and selecting “Paste”. If you have a photo of your premises on your website, you could also add the hyperlink to the picture.

If you wish to add a business listing to Google Maps, so that you may be found in the Google Maps search results, this is quite easy:

1. On the Google Maps page, at the bottom left of the page, click on “Business Owners - Add/Edit Your Business”.

2. This takes you to the Local Business Center, and you will be asked to log in to your Google Account - if you use Google Adwords or Adsense, you can use the same email address and password.

3. Once logged in, under the “Locations” tab, click on “Add new business”.

4. Then enter your business name, and address. Make sure you enter the full postal address, as Google will send an activation PIN to the address you enter.

5. You can create separate listings for each of your business locations.

6. Click “Continue”

7. You then add your phone number, and have the option to add your email and website address, and a description of your business, which will appear on the listing found by your customers. You have 200 characters for the description, so use keywords relevant to your business.

8. You can then indicate which forms of payment your company accepts, such as American Express etc.

9. Enter your opening hours if you wish (optional).

10. Enter a contact name (this is optional and won’t appear on Google Maps).

11. Click “Continue”.

12. Select a relevant category for your listing - you may select up to 5 different categories.

13. You then see a preview of your listing and may edit it if you wish. Once you are happy with the listing, click “Continue”.

14. You now wait for up to 2 weeks for Google to send you an activation PIN. You then follow the instructions in the letter to validate your listing before it will appear in Google Maps search results.

Generating Profits Like Clockwork Through Blogging

by Matt Rhodes

Many folks who try to make money blogging are often short-sighted in their monetary goals. At first glance, for example, Google AdSense seems to be the absolute best and easiest way to generate income from your blog, especially if you generate massive amounts of traffic. After all, you’re receiving hundreds of clicks daily, and they add up quickly. Ultimately, however, you’re trading $20 or $30 sales for 10 or 15 cent clicks. Although you’ll have more clicks than sales, simple math tells you that even if 1% of your clicks bought a product that earned you a $20 commission instead, you’d be doing $5 or $10 better than with AdSense. The truth is though, if you have a credible and respected blog, your income could be five or ten times that amount.

If you have a solid reputation for providing quality content to your visitors, they will trust any recommendations that you have. Think for a moment just how much power that puts into your hands. If you have users who visit your blog religiously, they’ll feel the same way about your recommendations. Recommend high quality, relevant products to your visitors and not only will you receive a hefty commission, they’ll actually be thanking you for helping them and will be even more eager to follow your recommendations the next time. Sometimes, if they know you receive a commission from the product, they’ll purchase it just to support you. You could make these recommendations like clockwork - every 2 weeks, recommend a great new product or service your users *need* to have. You’ll see a nice, big number in your checking account soon thereafter.

Compare that to AdSense. One click, 15 cents in your pocket, and they’re gone. They don’t trust you anymore than they used to, and - most importantly - they could be buying a product through a Google Ad that would’ve earned you a massive commission if you had just recommended it. If you think you can have both AdSense *and* affiliate products, think again. The AdSense ads will just distract your users from the offer you’re presenting.

Long story short: get rid of AdSense, start recommending quality products, then watch your bank account soar. I guarantee you’ll be pleased with the results.

The opinions above are those of the author of that particular article. The owners of this blog actually use Google along with other affiliate links. Since Google is contextual, it often includes quality information that our readers are looking for. It all depends upon your own content. With some content, their ads are very relevant - while with others, they’re so far off base you forget what you were reading about in the first place!

My own recommendation would be to experiment and see what works for you. Also, keep an eye on what Google ads are actually showing up on your page(s).

THE DANGEROUS SIDE OF SEARCH ENGINES

Beware: Google Selling Video Ads

by Jim Edwards

Copyright 2006 Jim Edwards

In a bold move, online advertising and search giant Google.com announced it will start selling online video ads this week to distribute across its partner network.

Curiously, Google will reportedly not display the ads on their main site, Google.com.

The company states that it’s their effort to deliver richer content demanded by advertisers and consumers that drives this latest advertising venture.

On the surface, it makes sense.

Video represents the hottest trend online right now and advertising revenue made Google the darling of Wall Street and restored investor confidence in viability of the Internet.

But once you get beyond the euphoria of another Google success in the making, some serious questions need addressing before we all mortgage the house and pour the cash into Google stock.

As I just stated, when Google starts displaying video ads, they will not play on their main portal site.

The video ads will only display on partner sites most likely displaying AdSense.

AdSense is the commission driven advertising distribution system the propelled Google to financial stardom.

When a partner site displays the AdSense code, Google pays a percentage of ad revenue to the site owner displaying the ads.

Now it appears, those sites will also, at Google’s option, display video ads.

Actual details of how the program will work and how advertisers include their videos in the system or display them remains sparse.

A search of the Google.com site, the AdSense.Google.com advertising section, and even the http://www.google.com/press/ site yielded very few clues to the actual inner-workings of the new video ads.

But, over the next few weeks, I’m sure the details of the program will become apparent to all.

Despite the excitement over the video ad buzz, I have two very real concerns about how video advertisement will play out with this new system.

First, the fact that Google.com will reportedly not display the video ads on their own site really bothers me.

Why would they do this?

If the advertising method means such a boon to advertisers, why wouldn’t they exploit it on their own site?

The answer: despite all their testing on Video.Google.com, they don’t know how video ads will play out.

Rather than experiment on their main “cash cow” site at Google.com, they want to work out the kinks on other people’s sites.

If you ask me, that’s not a very nice way to treat the people who made you multi-billionaires.

Second, considering the fact that most advertisers who choose to use video will simply play regurgitated TV commercials, video ads on Google will debut with mixed results.

Why?

Because standard TV commercials don’t wok for producing measurable results that online advertisers can track.

A whole new world of direct-response video advertising must emerge for advertisers to successfully exploit this new opportunity.

The real winners at the start of this expansion in video advertising will be the businesses with products that sell best when people can see a demonstration or before and after pictures.

These require the least skill in direct-response copywriting and create the most impact when viewed by potential customers.

Google Adsense-5 Rock Solid Tips to Make More Money

by Terry Till

Google adsense is proving to be probably the number one method of making money on the internet. Visit nearly any website today and you will see an array of Google Adsense ads being displayed. But if youre interested in displaying Google Adsense ads on your website how can you be sure that you are making the most return from your website visitors.

Let me tell you my five top tips to increase your Google Adsense income.

Tip one.

Use articles on your website that are of interest to your targeted market. Original articles written by yourself are best, however if you are not keen on writing why not look at obtaining some Private Label Rights articles. Most important issue here being to modify the articles extensively to make them original to you and not risk duplicated content issues.

Tip two.

Keep your web page layout simple and don’t include links to other products or services, which could distract your visitors from clicking on your Google Adsense ads. Remember this strategy is to increase your Adsense revenue, if you want to promote an affiliate product design a webpage with just your product links on and remove any adsense ads.

Tip three.

Design your Adsense ads to blend in with the background colour of your webpage and also position them in the most profitable positions available. You can get a clear idea of this layout by clicking on my website link below.

Tip four.

Keep track of your visitors and the income they produce to your website, you can do this by creating a channel in the Google Adsense backoffice. Again remember, that if your website is not producing a decent income then you need to look at different subject matters, subjects of interest that people want to read more about and are willing to visit your website in order to read more.

Tip five.

Traffic generation is the real key to success and without visitors to your website you wont make any money. This fifth tip is a complete subject on its own and I will be producing further articles on this subject which you will be able to read by visiting my website below.

I will be adding regular articles on all these subjects and more over the next few days and months so it realy will be worth a visit to see what tips and ideas you can use to increase your Google Adsense income.

You Can’t Afford NOT to Buy This Course!

You know the oddities of life that send you back on your heels, making you scratch your head and wonder if you’re seeing or hearing things correctly? I’m about to throw you one.

I’m a web designer who is prepared to look you directly in the face and tell you that you don’t need me, nor any of my kind. No, I haven’t taken leave of my senses and I most definitely have not grown tired of having food on my table! I am, however, looking into other trades besides web design. You see, one Jim Edwards has gone and shortened the shelf life of us web designers! (And I had always been such a fan of his….)

Here’s the deal. He has created an absolutely amazing course called the Mini Site Creator. The only flaw I’ve found in the entire course is in the name. It’s far too unassuming. You could build any sized site you wanted to upon “graduating”, not just mini sites! I want to just give you a brief overview along with my 2 cents. Then I’ll give you the link to his website where you can find out a lot more.

I’ve been familiar with Jim Edwards’ work before. He has never even associated his name with a bad product, let alone produced one himself. So, when the Mini Site Creator became available, I knew I had to have it. It was honestly the best purchase I’d made in years.

Like Jim, I’m very careful what I put my name on the line for. So, the responsibility of influencing someone to buy something isn’t something I would ever take lightly. Like me, you work hard for your money and should use it as wisely as possible. If I felt that this was anything less than a 100% great deal and a 100% worthwhile investment, I wouldn’t be writing these words right now. I give you my word, this course is absolutely something you NEED to have and the sooner the better. WHY?

Jim will show you how to make websites for yourself, rather than being at someone else’s mercy. Why pay a web designer (a-hem) when you can do it yourself and actually MAKE money for yourself?!!

You’ll gain so much confidence (and pride) as you learn new skills. Confidence breeds success like nothing else can!

You can LITERALLY have your first website up and running within a week. I put together the following mini site in less than a day using one of the templates that comes with the course:

Video Games

With this particular mini site, not only does income come from sales of the video games and products, you’ll notice that we’ve put Google ads on the site - MORE income!

While I already knew html, I had never used a template, and the Mozilla html editor that comes with the course was as new to me as they would be anyone. By the way, the course also includes customizable templates!

Anytime you learn a new craft or skill, you get to add quality “bragging rights” to your resume. Wouldn’t you love to list “Web Designer”, “Web Editor” and “Web Publisher” amongst your talents?

Your options are truly limitless. Below are links to Poster Websites that my teen-aged daughters put up using Jim’s Mini Site Creator Templates and Mozilla html editor. The posters are selling, they’re making money and learning first hand how to run their own internet marketing business! Do you have any young people in your life who you’d like to see gain the same skills? This is the course they need!

Janet Jackson Posters
Will Smith Posters
50 Cent Posters
Tori Amos Posters

I want so badly for you to get your hands on this course that I’ll make a special offer to you. If you buy the course through this website, after you have paid for the course, we will give you access to 100 Hightide-Web-Designed background images and even help you with the design of a banner if you need it. F-R-E-E.

If you have any questions at all about the Mini Site Creator, please feel 100% free to e-mail me: joi@hightide-web.com.

Do yourself a really nice favor, go to the following website and let Jim, himself, tell you all about this revolutionary course.

Click Here —> Mini Site Creator

By the way, we have already earned back more than we spent on the course through sales of these posters and products! A free education and multiple sources of income - pretty darn hard to beat that!
