Transcript: RJ and Liz's Reunion...
{RJ and Liz Reynolds meet again in Llanview}

RJ: "Liz Coleman. It's been a long time."

Liz: "It's Reynolds now."

RJ: "Right, right. Keri, uh, told me about your husband. I'm sorry about your loss. But, she also told me that you didn't want to see me."

Liz: "I thought that'd be best." RJ: "Really? Why is that. Considering that we have a daughter together. A daughter I never knew existed. Thanks to you."

(End of scene)

RJ: "So, how does that work exactly? I have a daughter, and she's as much a part of me as she is of you and you don't bother to tell her about me? How, how could you do that?"

Liz: "You were in prison."

RJ: "Did that change who I was? Who I was to Keri.....who Keri is to me?"

Liz: "Yes." (Liz turns to leave, but RJ stops her)

RJ: "No, no matter what I did, you had no right to keep her from me. I deserved to know I'm a father."

Liz: "It was my decision to make."

RJ: "The he!! it was!"

Liz: "You think it was easy? Every choice I made was for Keri. No matter what I had to sacrifice."

RJ: "So, you sacrificed MY choices? My rights as a father?"

Liz: "No.....you forfited those when you got yourself arrested."

RJ: "Funny. I don't remember the Judge saying anything about that."

Liz: "What would her life have been like? Huh? Growing up with everybody knowing that her father was a convicted felon. You think that would have been easy? She'd have been teased.. branded. There was no way I was going to let that happen to her. When I found out I was pregnant, I swore that she was never going to know that her father was nothing more that a common criminal."

RJ: "You're the criminal. You stole my daughter from me."

Liz: "I was a kid, RJ. I did the best I could."

RJ: "The best you could? The best you could do was to steal more time from me. I've missed everything.......her first words, her first steps, her first day of school."

Liz: "Yeah right......like you'd have been some perfect father. Man, you have such a selective memory. You were a player, RJ. You were knee-deep in the rackets, and and on your way down. You wouldn't have been there for us even if you had stayed clear of the law."

RJ: "You don't know that."

Liz: "Oh, please! It's a miracle you're not still in prison now."

RJ: "I am a good father. Ask Keri."

Liz: "Now! Wow, this is the easy part. She's all grown up, and she's beautiful, and she's talented, and she's brilliant. But who would she have been if she'd have grown up around you all those years, dragging her down?"

RJ: "We'll never know, will we? Because you took that away from me."

Liz: "What about what you took away from me?"

RJ: "What I took away from you? I never took anything from you."

Liz: "Forget it." RJ: "What did I take away from you?" (End of scene)

(RJ rubs Elizabeth's shoulder) RJ: "Elizabeth-"

Liz: "Please don't. That was a long time ago. I was just a teenager. I don't want to dig it all up again."

RJ: "But we haven't spoken since-"

Liz: "Since what, you went away? You surprised?"

RJ: "A little."

(They move over)

Liz: "That was exactly why I didn't want to see you."

RJ: "If you didn't want to see me, then why did you come to Llanview? You had to know I live here. Why come back with Keri now? After all this time.."

Liz: "I did it for Keri."

RJ: "For Keri. Why?"

Liz: "I just lost my husband. I wanted to see her. Is that so hard for you to understand?"

RJ: "But you had to know you'd run into me. If you really didn't want to see me-"

Liz: "I thought this could be avoided, but, obviously I was mistaken."

RJ: "If you really cared about Keri, then how could you keep her father a secret from her all these years?"

Liz: "You know, this isn't even about you, RJ. It never has been."

RJ: "What do you mean? What did I mean to you? Was I just some anonymous donor?"

Liz: "I don't need to listen to this." (She leaves, and Keri runs into RJ in the hall.)

Keri: "This wasn't supposed to happen! What did you say to her?" (Keri starts to go after Liz)

RJ: "No, stop. Let me handle it!" (End of scene)

(RJ walks into the lobby, to see Liz and Hank hugging. End of day)

RJ: "Well, here we go again!! Heroic Henry.. rescuing Lovely Liz from Big Bad RJ!"

Hank: "Look, Liz, why don't we go somewhere where we can talk in private?"

RJ: "You love to cut me out--keep me out of play, don't you?"

Hank: "RJ, stop it! I'm not having this conversation with you. Not here."

RJ: "Well, no. First you cut me out of Keri's life, now you cut me out of Liz's life. Is this what they teach you in Law School? Hmm? How to avoid messy paternity issues by showing the women how to hide her child from the men?"

Liz: "Stop it! Don't blame Hank."

RJ: "Why not?"

Liz: "Because it was my idea to keep the truth about Keri from you."

(End of scene)
